That Ancient Greek novel is going to be published this week. I'll finally upload it to Amazon after trying to correct an infuriating formatting issue. Stupid tabs or something. It wasn't happening all through the book, just a span of chapters. So weird. No clue what the hell was going on, but I had to get into the Kindle Create program to fix it because whatever it was, Word wasn't finding it.
I tried everything. I've run into this problem once before, but this time, it eluded me as to why it was happening. Sometimes I think programs just screw up and there are no explanations for it. I am a very simple writer. Set margins and indents ... write ... press enter ... continue to write. The End. lol That's about it. I don't get fancy, as you can tell if you see my ebook manuscripts. I don't believe in frills and all the bells and whistles. I just write and get it out there for my readers. I like to keep it simple. The story will speak for itself.
It's an on-demand world. People don't want to wait for stuff these days. Back in the day, people had to wait MONTHS or even a YEAR for a book! No way. Well, it sure felt like it was going to be a year for the release because of that formatting issue. 😆
Nothing ever works right these days. I know that because I'm a gamer. I can't remember ANY game that was released without problems. The same goes with the simple formatting of a manuscript. At least I got it fixed. It's fine now. Kevin found me a sexy Spartan Warrior to go on the cover, complete with lightly hairy chest and firm belly.
THAT works!
The reason I'm writing about LACONIA in this post is because I think this is one of the best stand-alone novels I've written. I know, I'm a series/saga writer, but I love the style of this one. The characters really came alive in this book and I'm so excited with the way it turned out. Valiant heroes, scheming villains, action, romance, drama and adventure! It's all there and I'm really pleased with the way it practically wrote itself.
Surprisingly, it was an incredibly simple writing experience. The words just flowed and kept going, even when I was ready to wrap up the story. Nope. They were not having it. They just kept going. I love it when my characters do that. If you want to see what I mean, just reference the blog post here to check out what I'm talking about.
I'm not sure if this book will have a sequel, but it's likely. There's never room for just one book in my head. There always has to be more. That's why I have never tried to write short stories. I'll admit it. I won't write them. Well, I could, but I don't think I'd like it. I'd have to call them ... "sort of short stories ..." :) I tend to be very wordy, but that's okay. My characters are busy existing within your mind and heart!
That's where I intended them to be. Keep them there. You'll enjoy having them around.
They're good people ... and with LACONIA? A trip into the ancient past is sure to entertain.
Hey ... it's what you read my books for, right? I don't disappoint. You deserve the best.
